No volume control kinda loud but kiddo loves it so much. Glasses broke when dropped onto floor but still functional.My kids 15 months to 5 years loved this toy. You can take the gears off and it will play whatever instrument is on the platform. They love to spin the gear handle and watch it light up and see the bear move back and forth.This is similar to a yellow duck toy, but the movement mechanism is different - by rotating the legs which makes the movement slower and smoother which is good. The wings and eyes don't move.The Penguin we received had different colors compared to the product picture (pink helmet and different-colored wings). The music selection is not all that great, the egg-pocket has a a few super short melodies (literally a few notes) from well known classical works - would have been great if they were more complete.The buttons are pretty hard to press and I cannot imagine a young child to be able to press them to get any sound effect.If you press the buttons yourself then it can hold a child attention for some time.The product description says for 6-12 months, but the box has a warning of small parts not for children under 3 years.Me and my nephew loved playing with this he is 2 years old and he was able to learn and figure out how to play with it very nice quality but it did not come with the stringWas really sad to receive this. The box was sealed but only came with the main section of the game. No additional parts. Needed it for a kids party this weekend. Going to have to find a new game elsewhere. Looks like it would have been really fun.It was given as as gift and they liked it.Child loved it. Great volume control, such a great gift also to give for teething.
