We bought one of these 8+ year ago. We love it. The height, the variations of perches, and the color. The cats love it too - so much that they absolutely destroyed it in those 8+ years. So... we just bought a replacement. We were happy to see the same model was still available. (Our larger cat loves the deep scoop to sleep in). It's perfect for our situation. Now that the replacement has arrived, I am reminded of how tricky it is to assemble so I am going to do everyone who purchases this a favor by telling you how to make it easier on yourselves:The assembly instructions are worthless. They suck. You can easily see how they piece together BUT you are not told the only order in which to assemble them to make it work.Even though it is easy to see how the base and columns fit - do not fall for it.Start from the top shelf and work your way to the base. This is the only way they will all assemble using the two part screws that are supplied. It gets awkward, so have a second person hold up the top while it is on its side, or use the coffee table like me :)It only takes about 20 minutes or so to assemble - if you start from the top down. If you start from the base, you will waste time and have to disassemble it, and start over. When it's put together, it's a fabulous cat tree that is attractive enough to be in the living room. And your cats are bound to love it too.
